Camera

This directory has the following sub-directories.

Download

This directory contains images before they are imported into photohack. Copy images from your memory card into this directory, and then execute

$ photohack album import

Images are moved out of this directory, renamed/renumbered, and moved into the following three directories.

(Alternatively, the memory card location can be specified directly as an argument to the import command.)

Image

This directory contains images from the camera, that are not RAW images. Once photohack has moved an image into this directory, it never modifies the file, unless you reject it. This ensures that the integrity of the original out-of-camera images is protected.

It is recommended that you do not directly manipulate files in this directory, as deleting any may make photohack confused.

Raw

This directory contains RAW images from the camera. Once photohack has moved a RAW file into this directory, it never modifies the file, unless you reject it. This ensures that the integrity of the original RAW images from the camera is protected.

It is recommended that you do not directly manipulate files in this directory, as deleting any may make photohack confused.

Proof

This directory contains proof images that can be used for initial images previewing and selection. If a RAW image has been supplied, then the JPEG thumbnail is extracted from the RAW image file. Otherwise, the JPEG (or other format) images supplied is used as the source for generating a reduced-resolution thumbnail.

Note that the “proof” images are a reasonable size, typically 800 to 1000 pixels along a side. The specific size is set in the “proof” style of the configuration file formats.txt.

It is recommended that you do not directly manipulate files in this directory, as deleting any may make photohack confused.
